With older version of B's Gold,
I needed mode change while using B's Gold (USB) version of CD-R software
on MacOS. After putting the iso file onto ISO image area, double click it
and change from CDROM XA to mode 1.

It won't boot if CDROM is connected to IDE0.
You need to switch IDE0/IDE1 at flat cable.
